Choose the right evening dress, wedding gown, or formal dress style for your body-type and desired look.
1. A-LineUniversally flattering, the A-line silhouette really is a girl's best friend. By gently flaring from the shoulders down, it skims curves rather than clinging to them, to create an elegant silhouette. Is This Style for You? If you're petite A-Line adds the illusion of length; if you're tall it can add fullness, and if you've got curves you'd rather cover, the A-line does that too. |
|
2.Ball Gown or "Pick Up"The most traditional of all dress silhouettes, the ball gown adds curves by accentuating the waist and flowing gracefully into a full skirt. The skirt is great at hiding full hips and creating a gorgeous hourglass figure. < Is This Style for You? A perfect choice for formal or “fairy-tale” inspired events, the ball gown style makes a wonderfully classic wedding dress. Looks great on most body types. |
|
3. Column or SheathFigure-hugging column dresses come in a variety of strapless and backless styles. This modern style has become popular among brides who want a chic or beach wedding. Is This Style for You? An elegant choice for anyone with broad shoulders or slender, athletic builds, it can also elongate a petite figure. However, if there are certain areas you'd rather not accentuate, its clingy design might not be the style for you. |
|
4. MermaidAlso known as the trumpet or “fit and flare”, mermaid dresses are fitted at the top and flair dramatically around the knee. Is This Style for You? Mermaid silhouettes accentuate the bust, waist and hips giving an hourglass figure, so it is perfect for showing off your curves. A perfect choice for a glamorous celebrity-inspired wedding. |
|
5. EmpireThis empire silhouette features a bodice with a high waistline directly below the bust. The look can be either soft or flowing or more structured and classic, depending on the fabric and cut used. Is This Style for You? The empire silhouette draws attention up, enhancing the waist while softening the hips, making it a great look for most body types. |
|
6. PrincessCreated with a series of vertical panels of fabric, and no obvious waist, a princess silhouette is more dramatic in appearance than the A-line, but similarly flattering. Is This Style For You? The seams on a dress with a princess silhouette follow the contours of the body to create shape while elongating the torso. An ideal choice for anyone with a petite figure and small-waist. |
|
7. MiniFor the super sassy bride, the increasingly popular bridal mini ends well above the knees and is perfect for showing off a pair of sexy pins. Is This Style For You? It is best suited for informal or outdoor weddings and is especially appropriate for summer beach weddings. Equally flattering for taller brides with long legs or shorter brides who want to appear taller on their special day. |
|
8. Knee-lengthAnother great look for a casual bride, this gown’s hem ends just below the knee. Is This Style For You? Many petite or curvy brides choose this style for both elegance and comfort. Best for cocktail wedding receptions or weddings during warmer months. |
|
9. Tea-lengthTea-length dresses feature a hem that falls anywhere between the bottom of the knee and the bottom of the calf, creating an elegant yet casual style. Popular in the 1950s, this style is a good choice for those who want to add a vintage touch to their wedding ensemble. Is This Style For You? Tea-length dresses are ideal for showing off your legs and drawing attention to a beautiful pair of shoes! A popular choice as a “second” dress to change into for your reception. |
|
10. Ankle-lengthThe ankle-length gown is hemmed right at the ankles, thereby showing off your feet and shoes. The skirt can be either full or fitting. Is This Style For You? Great for brides who want to present themselves as smart, stylish and modern. Because this skirt’s hem does not touch the ground, it is also highly sought after for outdoor weddings or for the bride who just doesn’t want guests stepping on her dress! |
|
11. Floor-lengthJust slightly longer than the ankle-length wedding dress, this style’s skirt is not meant to drag on the floor but rather float just inches above it. Some floor-length dresses come with detailing along the hem to accentuate the style. Is This Style For You? Rather than having your shoes and feet covered by your gown, having them visible can often ‘balance out’ your wedding ensemble. Why not add another color to your wedding ensemble, for example red, and wear a pair of shoes in that color? Guests will be pleasantly surprised when they see a striking pair of shoes peeping out as you walk down the aisle! |
|
12. Sweep TrainSweep Train gowns are for brides who wish to incorporate the traditional train feature but do not want to be troubled by a long train. Trains on Sweep Train gowns barely touch the floor. Is This Style For You? For brides who want a beautiful and elegant gown with a nod to tradition. |
|
13. Court TrainExtending about 3 feet from the ankles, the Court Train is longer than the Sweep Train and can be worn at most ceremonies – formal, semi-formal or casual. Is This Style For You? Extremely elegant, the Court Train style is appropriate for those who plan to have only one train carrier or a train light enough for their flower girl to hold. |
|
14. Chapel TrainThe Chapel Train is the most popular of all train lengths. It flows approximately three to five feet behind the gown. A bride wearing the Chapel Train style makes a bold statement saying “I feel beautiful and special! This is MY day!” Is This Style For You? A stunning choice for all figure types, the Chapel Train sets the brides as the centerpiece of a formal wedding. |
|
15. Cathedral TrainCathedral Train dresses features a cascading train for formal weddings. It extends from six to eight feet behind the gown. Also known as a Monarch Train.” Is This Style For You? This style is the perfect formal wedding gown and will surely attract the attention of guests at church or your reception. |
|
16. Watteau TrainA single panel of fabric attached to the top of your dress at the shoulders or upper back and flowing down to the floor is the defining characteristic of a Watteau Train gown. Veils can vary in length. Is This Style For You? As the train begins at the bride’s upper back, this style allows the bride to look elegant from behind. Also appropriate for ladies who would like to hold their own trains. |
|
17. AsymmetricalAsymmetrical gowns have different tailoring features on one side of the gown compared to the other. A popular asymmetrical design is to have a gown’s hem shorter at the front than the back. This style allows the bride to look different from various angles. Is This Style For You? Suitable for brides who want to combine the casual look of a shorter dress combined with the elegance of a longer hem at the back. |

Please note that special occasion dresses are sized differently than ready-to-wear clothes. You might find yourself ordering the special occasion dress in a larger size than the size you usually wear. We strongly suggest you have your measurements taken by a professional before buying online.
Many of our dresses can be tailor made to order using the measurements you provide us. For tips on how to provide your accurate measurements, see How to Measure.
If you decide to order standard size, you may use the following charts to map your measurements to the closest size to be ordered. If your measurements indicate one size for the "bust" and a different size for the "waist and/or hips", we suggest ordering according to the largest measurement. Dresses can easily be taken in by a skilled tailor or professional seamstress.

The below is just a guide. We recommend that whenever possible you get a qualified seamstress to measure your dress size. Always get someone else to make the measurements for you: measuring yourself will give inaccurate numbers and could lead to disappointment. Measure with undergarments similar to those you will wear with your dress; do not measure over other clothing.

---|---|
If we state on the product page that your dress is in
stock it will arrive in about one week. For custom made dresses,
please allow at least 3 weeks for the dress to arrive. Timing is important when ordering the perfect
dress, and we take that as seriously as you do. We advise ordering a
minimum of 8 weeks before you need to wear the dress if ordering a
wedding dress and a minimum of 4 weeks before you need to wear your
wedding party dress and special occasion dresses. Why so long? We make dresses to order from scratch so they may take longer to arrive than you’re used to with other online sellers. The tailoring period for wedding dresses is 25-28 working days and for wedding party dresses it takes 10-18 working days, plus a shipping time of 3-8 working days (exact shipping times depend on the carrier and shipping method chosen at Checkout). The best way to ensure a stress-free shopping experience is to allow plenty of time for our tailoring and shipping periods, plus additional time to try on the dress and make any necessary alterations once it arrives. |

5. Can I return or cancel the dress if I change my mind? | ^Top |
---|---|
Our dresses aren’t just pulled from a warehouse - once your order is confirmed, our tailors begin selecting materials in the color you requested and cutting fabric based on your measurements. Even standard size dresses are made to order for each customer. The custom nature of our dresses means our cancellation and return policy is stricter than for other items, so it’s important to order carefully. For full details, see our Return and Cancelation Policy . |
6. Can I order this dress in a different style/fabric/length? | ^Top |
---|---|
Each dress is carefully tailored to match exactly what you see in the photos, and unfortunately we are unable to modify the style, length or material in any way. If you haven’t found exactly what you’re looking for yet, the “Narrow by” search function on the left-hand side of each dress category’s main page can help you find the perfect combination. |
7. Do you have photos of the actual dress or other customers wearing the dress? | ^Top |
---|---|
As our collection is very dynamic and we only add dresses we can make exactly the same to our collection, we are not planning to take pictures of every dress in the near future, but sometimes customers post photos of themselves in the dress on the product page. You can also post a request for photos and your email on the page, in case others who have bought the dress want to reply with pictures. |
8. How can I make sure I’m ordering the right size? | ^Top |
---|---|
When ordering a dress for your special
occasion online, you’re right to pay close attention to getting the
size right! Since we’re an international company, our clothing may run
larger or smaller than the standard sizes you’re used to. Checking the
actual measurements in our size chart and comparing them to your own
measurements before placing your order is the best way to avoid size
errors. If you’re ordering a custom-sized dress, it’s especially important to get your measurements exactly right. Getting professionally measured is the most reliable way to ensure the final product reaches you perfectly tailored. Be sure to check out our measuring guide . If your size fluctuates or you want to modify the dress slightly, we always leave a few inches in the seams so that your local tailor can easily make alterations as needed. If you have any other questions about ordering the right size, don’t hesitate to contact us . |
9. Can you customize the size of my dress? | ^Top |
---|---|
Absolutely – if our standard sizes don't work for you,
we can make you a custom-sized dress for a small amount of extra charge. When ordering, you’ll need to check the box for “Custom
size” to the right of the dress’s drop-down size menu and tell us your
measurements in inches. Getting professionally measured is best, but if
you want to do it yourself be sure to read our measuring guide first.
Avoid common mistakes by doing the following: Ask someone else to measure for you Take measurements while wearing undergarments similar to what you’ll wear with the dress Provide a bust measurement from the fullest part of your chest, not your bra size! Give your measurements in inches Measure hollow to floor while wearing shoes of the same height you’ll wear with the dress |
10. Will I be able to alter my dress if I receive it and it doesn’t fit exactly right? | ^Top |
---|---|
Yes. If your size fluctuates or you want to modify the dress slightly, we always leave a few inches in the seams so that your local tailor can easily make alterations as needed. Dresses generally have a margin of 1 inches on either side of a seam. Flower detailing, beading or belts/ribbons may limit ability to let a dress out. |
11. How do you measure length for mini, knee-length and tea-length skirts if you only collect a hollow to the floor measurement? | ^Top |
---|---|
We use the hollow to the floor measurement to determine where the knee is and then cut the correct length according to the dress design. |
12. If I want to wear high heels with the dress, should I add the length of my heel to my hollow to the floor measurement? | ^Top |
---|---|
Yes, our tailor will cut the dress length exactly according to the hollow to the floor measurement you provide. If you'd like the dress longer to better fit a high heel, just add the length you need on to your hollow to the floor measurement. |
13. Will my dress exactly match the color I see on your website? | ^Top |
---|---|
There might be a slight difference between the actual dress’s color and what you see in the photo depending on your computer monitor’s display settings. |
14. What kind of fabric do you use on the dresses? | ^Top |
---|---|
Each dress is made of one or a combination of
the following beautiful, high-quality fabrics: Chiffon: delicate, sheer, and transparent material made from silk or rayon; its soft finish is often layered because of its transparency, making it popular for overskirts, sheer sleeves, and wraps Organza: crisp and sheer like chiffon, but with a stiffer texture reminiscent of tulle but more flowing; popular for skirts, sleeves, backs, and overlays Satin: heavy and smooth with a high sheen on the front; very commonly used for bridal gowns Silk-Like Satin: smooth, silky satin with a glossy front and matte back Matte Satin: soft, subtle shine and a smooth surface; similar to silk-like satin but less prone to wrinkles Taffeta: a crisp, smooth high-end fabric with a slight rib Tulle: netting made of silk, nylon, or rayon that is used primarily for skirts and veils (think ballerina tutus) |
15. When I ordered my dress, your website said I was charged $180. When the package arrived today, the address label said the "Total Charge" is ¥319.00. Did you overcharge me? | ^Top |
---|---|
The Total Charge on the shipping bill is the shipping
fee we paid the post office in RMB. We can not overcharge anyone as
the payment was process by PayPal. We have no knowledge of
customer's card # or any other financial info. |
